Spring Flowers for Gone Artsy

Hi guys this is the new twisted paper at Debs this is the white (GA526 ) I cut it into 1 inch pieces undid it first I found cutting it at 8 inches was a lot easier to undo after I cut it into 1 inch pieces I put the 8 pieces in a container and I used a spray ink and glimmer most to colour them. Then I scrunched them together to get all the lovely texture back.

I cut card stock circles at 1.5 inches and glued each piece first one I bent a little bit so it would sit on the card rather than lay flat and I added the next piece opposite that the other two pieces filled in the two spaces.

Add the next 4 but cover the join and follow the same steps I have added the lovely little roses set in rhinestones they come in beautiful colours the Ivory (GA 92 ) mint green (GA89) I glued these on with Helmar glue I did use my hot glue gun to glue the paper to card stock.

I also used some buttons as centres to show you how amazing this paper is you will have so much fun and you can make the flowers bigger or smaller

I also added a bit of the beautiful glass glitter that Deb has at Gone Artsy i used signature glass glitter in vintage rose (GA652) Twilight sparkle glass glitter medley (GA651) and Hearts Desire glass glitter (GA646) just to give a bit of bling they sparkle so beautiful in real life .I did use a few bits and pieces from my stash just to show you that you can make and add to centres

Hope you will have as much fun as I did making some amazing flowers

Megs Garden DT Blog – Charlottes Memmories by Suzanne Crowther – Sherlock Collection designed by Kerry-Jean Watson

Hi Ladies, I am here today to share my project for Megs Garden design team. We have all made a book, it is amazing how very different they all are. The paper was designed by the very talented Kerry-Jean Watson. They are called Sherlock Kit and this is the first in the new mini book range.

I wish I had made a video but maybe next time. I started cutting everything out. I then used an old hard cover book. I pulled out the pages and I made my pages up I did place my paper onto cream card stock as I wanted the stronger page after all my papers were glued in I folded them in half so I could bind them into a book when they had all been bound together I started to make the cover. I wanted to make an old looking book that would be a keepsake. I used water and glycerine to make a faux leather cover. I did emboss it to add texture and I must say I am very pleased with how it turned out. When this was dry I sprayed it with a sealer and gave it a coat of sealer full glass.

My next step was getting my pages to fit into the spine of my old book. I glued it in with a flexible glue I then covered the inside cover and back with these beautiful papers. As the paper is caller Sherlock and designed by Kerry-Jean Watson I thought an old book with a lot of mystery would be ideal with hidden letters and little messages throughout the book.

Using the Sherlock paper I added a piece of chipboard I had for a while. I painted some flowers for my Megs Garden sign. On this page Miss Charlotte Grace is with her mummy reading books at nanny and poppy’s property. I used a I love you which I painted using viva metallic’s in gold the sign post was covered with fero by viva then a bit of gold metallic rubbed over it. This is a very special page because the word courage applies to both my girls my Daughter Elizabeth and beautiful granddaughter Charlotte Grace as they are both trying to cope with illnesses and I thought this was an appropriate word for this page and them as they both have more courage than they think.

I found this little gold frame in my stash so I added a picture of Miss Charlotte and covered it with dimensional magic. I left it for 2 days to fully dry added a bow and placed it on this page.  Flowers are from Megs Garden little white flowers are Green Tara. All edges have been inked in vintage and dark cashmere Graphic 45

I used a piece of Laminate and added a piece of Emphera then added some white and gold string I also cut a butterfly and added it.

Page 22

Final!!! Yes you guessed it this features the Sherlock Papers by Kerry-Jean Watson. I used some washi tape on this just on the inside edge. I inked envelope and post card in vintage and dark cashmere. The post card has been addressed to Miss Charlotte and our favourite song is on the other side love from nanny. I have added metal corners here just to protect the edges. I have used a paper clip also this is where I am adding tickets from shows and plays we will see over the years.

Back to the Cover

I did not finish this until the whole book was complete. I added metal corners to all 4 corners someone gave them to me years ago so I used them up on this. Megs Garden Blog Design Team – Two “Gentlemen” Easel Cards

Hi everyone its Suzanne back again with 2 more projects for Meg’s Garden.

This time I am using the “Gentleman’s collection” by designer Kerry-Jean Watson for Megs Garden.

This is a stunning collection of papers for men. For my first project I have made an easel card. I cut some card stock 12X6 score at 6 and 9 these are your fold lines. I used a burgundy colour I then cut some corrugated card to match that I fitted to the 3 inch section. I have used the mini card pack. I selected the paper with the colours to match my card stock showing a very elegant gentleman. I distressed the edges with two inks and using a black sharpie pen I highlighted the clock I also punched two holes in the top and added a piece of black chain. I then used some ferro and covered some chipboard cogs. I added the cogs to the front connecting them with another piece of chipboard then adding smaller cogs with a couple of braids in brass string was also added around the cogs.

For the inside I cut the “Gentleman’s Collection” Paper to 3×5 ½ inked the edges and card stock only 3 sides to form a pocket for the tag. I added a strip of paper using 3D mounts 1 cog and 1 oval chippy. I did use a rub on keys & lock and stamped I love you and memories. I then made a tag to match. I have tried to make the stunning paper a feature with the water marks and the aged look it was a pleasure to work with. You can find this paper collection at Megs Garden.

For my second project I have used the stunning paper from Megs Garden “The Gentleman’s Collection” Designed by Kerry-Jean Watson.

I really enjoyed making this card in particular simply because I basically just used these beautiful papers as with the other men’s card I did. With this card it is a twisted easel card I did use card stock in teal blue cut to 12×6 for the front of the card. I used 1 6×6 piece of brown card stock I then cut 2 gentleman’s collection papers to fit. I used 1 page from the mini kit with the gentleman sitting with his suitcase. I then took the other piece that was the same and fussy cut this image out I then inked the edges and used 3D dots to give a great 3d look. I did add a bit of blue ink to the suitcase. I cut some more paper from the piece I have fussy cut distressed them and added to the front of the card. To add a bit more dimension I also added rub on x 2.

For the inside I made a pocket I also cut a strip to match the front and a square off cut all have been inked and added to the front of the pocket. I fussy cut the compass out and used 3d dots to fit. I have used a wood chip suitcase coloured to match the card with a small rubons to the bottom right. With the tag I used the Gentleman’s collection and I cut out 1 small square picture on the cover of the pack to tie it all together these little square pictures are a great bonus to use.

Thank you for looking at my cards I hope you take this chance to pop over to Meg’s garden for some amazing papers and embellishments.

Thank You Suzanne.

Megs Garden Blog Design Team – Two “Correspondance” Easel Cards

Hi Everyone its Suzanne Crowther here at Meg’s Garden Blog. I have made Two projects using the “correspondence collection” designed by Kerry-Jean Watson for Meg’s Garden. This is a stunning range of papers that are truly suited to most styles and most cards. They are also amazing to work with. I used the mini card pack.

My first project is a Twisted Easel card called “Miss Charlotte”

This is a 6×6 inch card. I have trimmed and torn the papers to fit, I like to use 2 inks on my edges, and I did not add any stamps or stencils as I think these papers do shine on their own.

I used the beautiful Laser cut small oval Victorian frame from Megs Garden which I painted with metallics. I placed an off cut piece of laser cut trim painted the same as the frame along the bottom of the card.

I also added the vintage beauty picture No 019 from Megs Garden to the frame, before I fitted the beautiful picture and frame I added a piece of lace and ribbon. Then I fitted the frame and ran a piece of the stunning tattered net trim to only half the frame as I still wanted these stunning papers to feature.

To finish off the front I added the jewelled Duke Pin, white small rose, Velvet flower with a braid pink/purple all from Megs Garden. I did stamp a small sentiment onto the paper and added it to the front.

For the inside of the card I used a piece of “Correspondence” Paper that I distressed and inked I added a piece of beautiful double sided satin ribbon in lavender and mint from Megs Garden. I only stuck the bottom and both sides forming a pocket. I then added the most stunning open rose in off white with the velvet flower braid in pink/purple both from Megs Garden,

I added a few pearls in ivory for the tag and I used piece of card stock. I added small piece of “Correspondence” paper small frame the vintage picture, tattered net trim and whit rose all from Megs Garden. I did add a bit of gold metallic to the roses.

For my second project I have made another twisted easel card gotta love them I do.

This card is called “Grace”

Once again I used the stunning “Correspondence” collection mini pack. This is a 6×6 inch card. I used 2 papers I trimmed and distressed again with 2 inks I ran a piece of the beautiful double sided satin ribbon in mint and lavender and 1 small white rose all from Meg’s Garden.

I also used a  doily  Mini Square from Megs Garden that I sewed with yellow and soft pink thread. I folded the square in a vintage style.

I also placed a beautiful metal flower from Meg’s Garden on the folded doily.

The inside features a pocket using the “Correspondence” Collection stuck down along the bottom and both sides. I also added the ribbon the same as the front but I reversed it as it shows on the front mint with lavender Bow on the pocket. It shows Lavender with Green bow this ribbon is a fantastic quality all at Meg’s Garden.

I also added some beautiful cornsilk flowers from Meg’s Garden and then a sentiment

I made a small tag using the paper and cornsilk flower. I also added Lavender and Green ribbon with just a few pearls to finish off.

I do hope you like these cards please come over to Meg’s Garden and have a look at all the wonderful products.
