“Couture Creations 2014 Design Team Audition”

These projects have been created for the Couture Creations Design Team Audition 2014. I have thoroughly enjoyed working on these projects and having the chance to use some of the mixed media products that I have. Couture Creations have an amazing array of embossing folders, die cuts, equipment and tools.

Project 1 – “Wedding Day”

This card has been made for a customer for her best friend’s wedding day. The card was created using Kaiser Craft “The Lake House” Paper range, Bazzill Card Stock, Mollossi Pearls, Green Tara Flowers, Kindy Glitz and Kaiser Craft small letters. The main focal point of the card was the Couture Creations Royal Jewels Collection Crystal Star Doily Die cut which was inked with light pink.

Project 2 – “I Do”

I have made this card specifically for Couture Creations. I have used the following products: Bazzill Card Stock, Kaiser Craft “On This Day” paper range, Green Tara Ribbon, Lace and Leaves and a piece of jewellery. The card was completed with Couture Creations Royal Jewels Collection Crystal Star Doily Die cut and the Nesting Dies Victorian Square. I used the doily die for the centre of the easel card I then used the Victorian Square dies to make a tag and the raised embellishments.

Project 3 – “Believe”

This card was part of my Christmas Collection for 2013. I have used Bazzill Card Stock, Mirror Card Silver, Green Tara Ribbon, Flexible word Believe from Manor House Creations, Small Charm, Silver and Pewter Pen. The card has been pieced together using two couture creations embossing folders Wrapped in Joy Collection “Piece and Joy” and Ho Ho Ho its Christmas Collection “Party Favour”. I embossed the mirror card using the bottom section of the Piece and Joy folder which formed the top of the card. The lower section of the card is embossed with the top section of the Party Favour folder which gives the finish on the front of the card. I pieced these embossed sections together with Couture Creations Tape and then added the Green Tara ribbon. The lower section inside the card was embossed using the lower section of the Ho Ho Ho Collection. I highlighted the embossing using the Sliver and Pewter pens.

Project 4 – “Charlotte”

This project was also created for Couture Creations and has been one of my favourite pieces. I decided to do this project using a stretched canvas. To begin the canvas I used manor house collection paper which was glued down to the canvas and very lightly painted over the top in Gesso. Viva Precious Metal with a prima stencil was used to create a pattern over the top. To add more texture I decided to use Kaiser Craft Butterfly stencil over the top as well. Green Tara ribbon and bows lace was used around the edging of the canvas to help frame the canvass. I added a beautiful piece of French lace to the right hand side of the board which formed a panel in which I would place my Couture Creations Frames. Two Couture Creations Victorian Nesting dies have been used to frame the photos I had taken of my granddaughter which were perfect for this canvas idea. The three small photos fitted perfectly into the Couture Creations Frames which I embossed with small butterflies this was followed by then placing the larger photo to the left of the canvas. To add more detail and character to the canvas I then added Mollossi flourish, 3 birds and the word laugh. I then embossed a piece of Bazzill card stock twice with butterfly notes folder, I then cut the flowers and butterflies out of the card stock which I painted in metallic ink and edged in magenta ink. The butterflies were joined together to create a double wing butterfly, I punched the raised edges of the butterfly out and jewelled both butterflies placing one on the bottom left of the canvas and the small butterfly on the top right of the frame. The three flowers and stems were painted in metallic and edged in magenta and placed with a molossi flower to form a flourish.
